A Brief Timeline
Puri first surfaced in the Star Atlas community in early December, around the time of the third Never Alone mission announcement.
Over the next few days, various discussions around Puri took place, mainly aimed at its appearance. However, around Dec 8th, there were increasing mentions and ideation around creating a Puri coin. Over the next weeks, various community members discussed the point and scope of a coin, mainly centered around the potential to help drive awareness of the Star Atlas community through a meme coin angle.
Towards the end of December, a Puri coin was actually created by a member of the community. Ghaz Outro posted the following statement to provide context on the Puri coin:
Within a few days, it was evident to Ghaz and others that Puri was becoming a lot more than anticipated. Over the next few weeks into mid January, core aspects such as the Puri Discord, the Puri Treasury, a multi-sig wallet, the Puri Council and other elements were stood up. During this time, Puri continued to gain momentum and holders, including those not originally airdropped to.
Over the span of a few short weeks, the Puri Project has gone from a joke to being a full project, with many things in the works. Read on for the current state!
Current Puri Project Elements
The Puri Project team has announced parallel efforts as the project becomes a full-fledged endeavor. Here are some of the key elements announced so far:
$PURI Token: The $PURI token will continue to be the primary token within the project. The $PURI token is increasing in reach, including the addition of liquidity in Raydium and Orca, a lending/borrowing pool in Solend, being used as the primary currency for raffles on Hedgehog Markets, and more.
Purigotchi Game: On February 4th, the Puri team revealed the upcoming Purigotchi game, which will center around players collecting, caring for and sending their Puri on missions. An early tech demo was published for 24 hours the same day, giving participants a glimpse into the early state of the game.
Purigotchi will be a virtual ecosystem of its own, including in-game assets, a marketplace, a builder token and more. Read the current whitepaper on the Purigotchi website to learn more.

Puri NFTs: Puri NFTs will be the primary way to acquire Puri to use in Purigotchi. The sale of this collection will help fund the further development of this community-based effort.
What Can I Do Now?
We know that there are various reasons people might choose to participate in the Puri ecosystem, and all are welcome. Currently, as the project is getting off the ground, the best way to stay engaged is to join the Puri Discord. This is the best way to stay on top of announcements.
